Abstract

The study aimed to assess the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) indicators (mobile subscriptions per 100 people, fixed broadband subscriptions per 100 people, and individuals using the internet as a percentage of the population) on economic growth in Yemen.

To achieve this goal, the study employed a descriptive approach and conducted an econometric analysis of multiple linear regression models using quarterly time series data spanning 21 years (2001- 2021) through the EViews 10 software.

The hypothesis was tested by estimating the model using OLS and processing the results with the ROBUSTLS method.

The econometric analysis revealed a slight positive impact of ICT on economic growth in Yemen.

The study recommended that the Yemeni government focus on improving technical infrastructure, which is crucial for productive and service activities that support economic growth.

It also advised adopting strategies to combat corruption that hinder technological advancement and transition to a digital economy, encouraging local and foreign private sector investments in ICT, and providing necessary facilitation from relevant authorities to ensure sector development, as well as increasing investment in human capital to enhance the efficiency of the ICT sector.
