Abstract

This study aimed to identify the reality of using financial technology "FinTech" and measure its impact on the performance of Yemeni banks. To achieve this goal, the study relied on the descriptive survey and descriptive correlational approaches, and used an electronic questionnaire in two formats (a questionnaire for employees - a questionnaire for customers) prepared using the designs available in Google Drive to collect data from the study communities. The first community represented all employees in the departments and technical and information systems departments in nine Yemeni banks in their main centers in the capital, Sana'a, and their branches in the city of Taiz. The second community represented all customers of these banks. The study sample in the employee community consisted of (115) employees, while the size of the study sample from the customer community amounted to (120) customers. The electronic questionnaire was sent to the targeted groups from the two categories via social media. After retrieving it and unpacking the data, statistical analysis was conducted by using appropriate descriptive and inferential methods through the program (IBM SPSS V.27) and the program (Smart.PLS 3.2.9).

The descriptive analysis of the responses of the respondents from employees and customers showed that the application of financial technology "FinTech" in Yemeni banks is at a high level, and that the overall performance level of these banks is high. Therefore, the performance fields are arranged as follows: (strategic performance, very high functional performance, marketing performance, and high financial performance). The results of the study's hypothesis testing also revealed a statistically significant positive impact of financial technology on the performance of banks in Yemen in general, and there is a statistically significant positive impact on the performance fields in the following order: (financial performance, marketing performance, functional performance, and strategic performance).
